Jack Brocksmith My Brother February 24, 2012
My heart goes out to all who loved my dear borother. He was such a good and kind man. I had a one on one trip with him to ENT AFB in Colorado, and it was fun. We had a generator go out and we ate a nice farm breakfast at a farm house close to the Garage that fixed the car. We just were there and backing in that time. Over the years life took us in different directions, but make no mistake I loved my brother dearly and his children. I will add Paula to my list of Brocksmith Widows and check in on her now and again. Death is something we all fear but as a Latter Day Saint I know, as did Derald, he is in the arms of his dear bothers, our parents, the Kindred's, and his spirit lives on.

Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear of the loss of Derald. My Dad also passed at the youing age of 72 and I understand the sadness you are dealing with. I have read all the condolences written in the guest book. Derald was a nice man and I know he will be missed by the entire Brocksmith family.
We never did meet your Dad, but as they say the apple don't fall to far from the tree, The first time we met you James at the coffee house with your bandjo we both instantly liked you so much. Reading all the condolences we now know where all your qualities came from. Then we were able to meet Ginny,Little James and Lilly and fell in love wth them instantly also. Your family is very special to us. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. May the be comfort in knowing that someone so special will never be forgotten. May your memories be your comfort.
Rest in peace Derald

Powers Family Sorry for your loss...... February 24, 2012
Brocksmith family,
We are so sorry to hear of Derald's passing. I will always remember Derald riding that lawn mower around and sitting outside the garage in his chair on summer mornings. You guys are great neighbors and we appreciate all the times you have let Chelsie come over to play when Bailee is up visiting.
We would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to you since we won't be able to do so in person on Saturday, as we also lost Jim's aunt the same day as Derald and we will be attending her services on that day.

This is a wonderful website and I so appreciate reading the memories of your friends and family members.  I just came across your picture at my wedding reception (1968) while going through family pictures to share with cousins.  I am sending my heartfelt sympathies about your loss but know you have the very best rememberances to help you along the way.  Sincerely, Carole Smith (Cris Sandberg's sister)

Don, I recall meeting Derald at your wedding.  We talked to each other off and on throughout that day.  I remember feeling his warmth during our conversations and the proudness in his voice as he taked about his family.  As I was introduced and got to know your family members a little bit it didn't take long to realize that those Brocksmith boys were something else. I kept asking myself wow, how many family members are there?  Anyway, I just wanted to say that afterwards I knew you came from a fine, caring family and that Derald had probably played a large role in that.  You Brocksmith's are tough as nails and you will be fine.  May God bless and be with Derald and your family.
Teuscher / Lannert Family A Family Man February 23, 2012
Dear Paula and family,

My deepest sympathies. I was saddened to read of Derald's passing. I have many wonderful memories of him. He was always very kind to my daughters and myself and always made us feel like family. He was indeed, very proud of his family and the roots he came from. He looked forward to his family reunions and loved his wife and children dearly.

I will never forget when Derald dressed up like Santa Claus and visited my youngest daughter Falynn on Christmas Eve. He had pulled a muscle in his back but still insisted on being there to see her reaction. That reaction was priceless and she still remembers it to this day. He attended her soccer games and even gave pointers when needed. I loved his unique sense of humor and his dancing skills. I might add that nobody to this day, has ever sang Happy Birthday to me like Derald, even if it was at 5 o' clock in the morning. He had so much spunk.

I pray that God will  keep you in in his loving arms and give you stength during this difficult time. Derald's memory lives on thru his family and friends and the lives he touched.

Our deepest sympathies,

Robyh Teuscher & Danielle and Falynn Lannert
Anna Haistings You were always there February 23, 2012
I remember several times when I would be staying with Grandma B and Uncle Derald would just show up.  When I was younger I was a little afraid of you.  As I have gotten older I see now that you always showed honor for your parents and made sure that you worked hard throughout your life.  You have wonderful children who loved you and a sweet wife who was with you always.   You reminded me of Grandpa Brocksmith on several occasions and I am so grateful that like him, you have showed me that hard work is key, and honoring your parents is part of our biological make up.  Thank you for being such a wonderful example.
Love, Annie
